FUSION to Broadcast and Live-stream Forum Across its TV and Digital Platforms

December 7, 2015 – Des Moines, IA – Today, the Brown and Black Presidential Forum Co-Founders and Co-Chairs announced the official commitment of Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders to participate in the Iowa Brown and Black Presidential Forum at the Democratic event on January 11, 2016. He will join former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former Governor of Maryland Martin O’Malley to discuss minority issues affecting the country.

Billed as the oldest Forum addressing minority issues, The Iowa Brown & Black Presidential Forum is an element of Urban Dreams’ non-partisan Project V.O.T.E. (Voting Opportunities Through Education). It is the nation’s only presidential forum in which all candidates have the opportunity to answer essential concerns of African-Americans and Latinos. The non-partisan event began in 1984 and has figured prominently in the Iowa caucuses. It is recognized as the oldest continuous minority forum for presidential candidates in America and one of the longest-running presidential forums in the nation.

Iowa Brown and Black Presidential Forum recently announced a media partnership with FUSION, which will exclusively broadcast the Forum from Des Moines, Iowa. The moderators, which will include a FUSION reporter and panel members, will be announced at a later date. This marks the first Presidential forum FUSION will host since its launch in October 2013.
